Engineering first

Every project starts with feasibility, load data and roof condition, not a panel count.

Commercial and industrial

Factories, warehouses, commercial buildings, developments and ground-mount projects.

Financing structures

Outright purchase, lease-to-own, or loan application support through our banking partners.

Licensed in Cambodia

Letter and licence from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and an EAC licence for systems above 10 kW.

Turn your roof into an energy asset

On most commercial and industrial buildings the roof does nothing but keep the rain out. That same area can generate a meaningful share of the electricity the building already consumes, using space you are paying for either way.

Lower energy costs

Generate electricity directly from sunlight and reduce long-term electricity expenditure.

Energy independence

Reduce exposure to electricity price fluctuations and improve long-term energy planning.

Sustainability

Reduce carbon emissions and support corporate ESG and sustainability objectives.

Long-term value

A properly engineered solar system can continue generating value for many years.

Go solar without heavy upfront investment

Lease. Save. Own.

Traditional solar installations may require significant upfront capital. Palm Volt works with financing and investment partners to structure lease-to-own solar solutions, so eligible businesses can adopt solar while preserving working capital.

Instead of purchasing the entire system upfront, customers may make structured payments over an agreed period. At the end of the arrangement, ownership of the solar system can transfer to the customer, subject to the final commercial agreement.

Where a bank facility suits the project better, we assist with the loan application through our banking partners, and provide the technical documentation the lender needs.

Discuss solar financing

Financing availability, savings, payment structures and ownership terms are subject to project assessment, credit evaluation, technical feasibility and final contractual agreement.

Built for business

The buildings that benefit most are the ones with large roofs, high daytime electricity use, or both.

Factories

High electricity consumption makes manufacturing facilities strong candidates for solar generation.

Warehouses

Large roof areas can provide significant solar-generation capacity.

Commercial buildings

Reduce common-area and operational electricity consumption.

Industrial facilities

Integrate renewable energy into energy-intensive operations.

Property owners

Transform unused rooftop space into productive energy infrastructure.

Developers

Integrate solar and renewable-energy solutions into new developments.

Beyond the commercial rooftop

Commercial and industrial work is the core of what we do, but two other segments come up often enough in Cambodia to be worth naming.

Residential

Gated communities, shop houses and homes with high electricity bills, particularly where battery storage is wanted for outage cover.

Off-grid and agricultural

Sites the grid does not reach: irrigation and water pumping, cold storage for produce, rural community facilities, street lighting, NGO operations and remote eco-resorts.

How much could solar save your business?

Enter what you know about your building and electricity use. The estimate updates as you type.

Enter either the bill or the consumption. Providing both gives a more accurate estimate, because your actual electricity rate can then be used.

Preliminary estimate

Fill in the fields to see an indicative result.

Enter a roof area and either a monthly bill or monthly consumption.

These calculations are preliminary estimates only. A detailed site and electricity-consumption assessment is required before a formal proposal can be provided.

Assumptions used
  • Usable roof area is taken as one kilowatt-peak per 8 m² of gross roof, allowing for walkways, plant, skylights and setbacks.
  • Performance ratio of 0.80 applied to account for temperature, soiling, wiring and inverter losses.
  • Capacity is capped at the level your daytime load can absorb, since exporting to the grid is treated as no benefit here.
  • Grid emission factors and indicative installed costs differ by country and are used only for a rough payback figure.
  • Payback is based on an indicative installed cost for the market, less annual operations and maintenance at 1.5% of that cost.
  • No allowance is made for tariff changes, incentives, financing cost or module degradation.

Generation for the two commercial systems is as recorded. The residential system was commissioned recently and has not yet completed a full year, so its annual figure is projected from installed capacity at the same specific yield those two systems achieve, and is marked as an estimate. CO₂ reduction is calculated from generation at a grid emission factor of 0.52 kg CO₂ per kWh and is an estimate in every case, not a measured value. Project locations and commissioning dates are added once confirmed.

Local expertise. Regional ambition.

Palm Volt runs across two markets, and they do different jobs. Engineering standards, equipment selection and the commercial side sit in Singapore. Everything that touches the roof happens in Cambodia, under Cambodian licence.

Palm Volt is building partnerships across Southeast Asia to support the region's transition toward cleaner and more affordable energy.

Energy savings with environmental impact

Every kilowatt-hour generated on your own roof is a kilowatt-hour not drawn from the grid. Over the life of a system that adds up to a measurable reduction in emissions, alongside the reduction in cost, and it can be reported against your sustainability objectives.

0Solar capacity installed (kWp)
0Annual generation, verified systems (kWh)
0Estimated CO₂ avoided each year (tonnes)
0Solar projects

Capacity and project count cover three installed systems. Annual generation and CO₂ count only the two systems that have completed a verified year; the third, commissioned recently, is projected to add about 64,000 kWh a year, taking the portfolio to roughly 120,000 kWh once its first year is on record. CO₂ is estimated from generation at 0.52 kg per kWh. Updated as further projects are commissioned.

Questions we are asked before a first site visit

How does commercial solar work?
Panels on your roof convert sunlight into direct current. An inverter converts that into alternating current at your building's voltage and feeds it into your main switchboard. Your equipment draws that electricity first, and the grid only makes up the difference when solar output is lower than demand. Nothing about how your building is operated has to change.
How much roof space do I need?
As a planning rule, allow roughly 6 to 8 m² of usable roof for each kilowatt-peak, once walkways, plant equipment, skylights, shading and setbacks are excluded. A 3,000 m² warehouse roof will often support a few hundred kilowatt-peak. The real figure comes out of the site assessment, because roof condition and structural capacity matter as much as area.
How much can my business save with solar?
It depends on your electricity rate, how much of your consumption happens during daylight hours, and how much capacity your roof can carry. The calculator above gives a rough sense of the order of magnitude. A firm figure requires twelve months of electricity bills or interval data, which we review during feasibility.
How long do solar panels last?
Solar modules are long-life equipment, and manufacturers publish performance warranties measured in decades, with output declining gradually each year. Inverters have a shorter service life and are normally treated as a planned replacement item during the system's life. Exact warranty terms depend on the equipment selected for your project and are stated in the proposal.
What happens during cloudy weather?
Output drops but does not stop, because panels still respond to diffuse light. Your building simply draws more from the grid during those periods. Generation estimates are already based on annual weather patterns for your location, so cloudy days are built into the numbers rather than being an exception to them.
Can solar power my entire factory?
Usually not on its own. Roof area limits capacity, and generation only happens during daylight, so a rooftop system typically covers part of your consumption rather than all of it. For most industrial sites the useful target is offsetting a meaningful share of daytime load. Larger offsets can be explored with additional ground-mount capacity or storage, assessed case by case.
What is a lease-to-own solar arrangement?
Palm Volt works with financing and investment partners so eligible businesses can install solar without paying the full system cost at the start. Payments are made over an agreed period, and ownership of the system can transfer to the customer at the end. Availability, terms and ownership transfer are subject to project assessment, credit evaluation and the final contractual agreement.
Do I need to pay the full solar installation cost upfront?
Not necessarily. Outright purchase is one route, and structured payment or lease-to-own arrangements through our financing partners are another. Which options are available to you depends on the project size, the site and the outcome of a credit evaluation.
Who maintains the solar system?
Palm Volt provides monitoring, preventive maintenance and technical support under an agreed service scope. Where the system is financed, maintenance responsibility is set out in the financing agreement so there is no ambiguity about who attends to what.
How long does installation take?
It scales with system size, roof access and the electrical works involved. A modest commercial rooftop is a matter of weeks on site; a large industrial system takes longer, and the connection and commissioning steps depend on the utility's process in your country. You receive an indicative programme with the commercial proposal.
Can Palm Volt assess an existing building?
Yes. Most of our work is on existing buildings. The assessment covers roof condition and remaining service life, structural capacity, existing electrical infrastructure and spare switchboard capacity, access for installation, and shading from nearby structures.
Does Palm Volt handle large industrial projects?
Yes. High-capacity rooftop systems for factories, warehouses and manufacturing facilities are a core part of our scope, alongside engineering and development support for larger ground-mounted installations.
Is Palm Volt licensed to do this work in Cambodia?
Yes. We hold a letter and licence from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and a licence from the Electricity Authority of Cambodia for systems above 10 kW. Copies are provided with the proposal, and you are welcome to ask for them earlier.
Can you add battery storage?
Yes. A battery energy storage system holds solar generation for use after dark, carries critical equipment through an outage, and can shift load away from expensive periods. Whether it pays for itself depends on your tariff and how much an outage actually costs you, so we size it against those numbers rather than by default.
Do you work on sites with no grid connection?
Yes. Off-grid systems are a regular part of our work in Cambodia: irrigation and water pumping, cold storage for produce, rural community facilities, street lighting and remote resorts. These are designed around the load and the required days of autonomy rather than around a tariff.
What information is required for an initial assessment?
To start, we need your recent electricity bills, ideally twelve months, the site address, an approximate roof area or a site plan, your operating hours, and details of the incoming electrical supply if you have them. Photographs of the roof and the main switchboard are helpful. That is usually enough for a preliminary view before a site visit.
